John, honest question. Do you think that there is anything that is "organically known" by us (the plebs, of which I am currently counting yourself among) or do you think that there's a possibility that outside of what we see & experience with our own eyes & what God has shown us & given us, that all of the "knowledge" of what the world gives could come to us through a filter or be fully generated?
Okay, so not to go all “off the reservation” here but after a year of really heavy Scripture reading I’ve come to the conclusion that the world & its environs are not currently under God’s immediate control. I think that at the fall God “gave” control of the world to satan & his minions. This is evidenced by satan offering Jesus the kingdoms of the earth - satan couldn’t have offered what he didn’t have. So then fast forward, I don’t think any knowledge that comes from the world isn’t polluted by satan. The more I pray about it I really think that “The Word” is the only thing that hasn’t been polluted by the sin of the world. Obviously there have been attempts by the devil against the written word because of problems in translation, but the living Word and the gift of the Holy Spirit transcend those corruptions. Basically I’m saying I’ve stopped pulling at loose threads thinking it will lead to me learning anything. Satan gonna do what satan gonna do and I can learn more by learning about God in the Bible. I do like all of your stuff about the need for proper sleep and mold is gross.
One of my jobs is as a Christian naturopathic author and health coach so I need to know about health to do my job which is to help people Lord willing is to get better. I write about it here hopefully so people can also feel better.
The Holy Spirit lead me to Luke 3:12-14 I believe.
Now granted if your job is directly sinful, for example, pornography then you should leave it.
I believe we need to know some things about the world since we live in it. But for each person how much and what the focus might be is different. Hopefully, Christ is reflected in everything I do since I have become Born Again.

Ultimately I spend most of my time reading the Bible and learning about the only true faith, Bible believing Christianity.
Crazy Luke 3.12-14 is one of my favorite verses on the daily. As a pastor/chaplain I will of course prepare for a sermon, but I have really learned to trust this verse for a lot of pastoral care & definitely conflict. Dang I really do live by that verse a lot! So I get it. And to be clear: I’m not trying to criticize your efforts here or your goal. I actually wouldn’t say this to you if I didn’t respect/like your work (not knowing YOU personally). Your job sounds really cool btw. I’ve just noticed a tendency among Christians who don’t know their Bible well enough that they end up focusing on the work of satan more than the work of God. But also, as it says in Jeremiah 9.6: “Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.“ I chose the KJV for its emphasis on “habitation.” We LIVE in a world of deception. I don’t trust what ANY media says anymore about the state of the world & what our emphasis/concerns needs to be. This includes alternative & mainstream. Even if the alternative media source is well-meaning it’s based on what I would call polluted facts. Basically I think that the Powers That Be (PTB) is truly in control of everything - & by that I mean that the PTB is in control of much much much more than we even realize.
