February 5, 1987

On February 5, 1987, Tallahassee Police Investigator Cheryl Weigand had her first conversation with Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Intelligence Unit Detective Jim Bradley. Bradley inquired whether there might be more children at The Finders W Street apartments or The Finders 4th Street warehouse, both located within Washington D.C. Weigand informed Bradley that there might be more Finders children at those locations, but she was uncertain. Bradley assured her that he would try to obtain search warrants for both locations and execute them later that day.[1]

On February 5, 1987, at 8:00 a.m., Tallahassee Police Department Investigator Brown contacted Wayne Wallace of the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services. Brown asked if Wallace needed any information from them. Wallace wanted to know what was in the photographs of the impounded van. Brown obtained the photos from the Tallahassee Police Department Property Section and informed Wallace of the van’s contents.[2]
