The Finders mothers Tallahassee lawyer, Paula Walborsky, contacted Tallahassee Police Department Investigator Rick Huffman on February 16, 1987, to let him know that the women wanted to cooperate with the authorities, and interviews with the mothers were set up for the following three days. The women were interviewed separately, and sworn statements were recorded. Each woman filled out questionnaires regarding their and their alleged children’s identities. The women regarded “The Finders” as the business part of the operation (they claimed they had not heard that name used about the “group” in a long time) and that the social aspect of the network had no name. Several women identified “Finders” business cards, claimed they were old, and one woman indicated that they were probably stashed in The Finders blue 1979 Dodge Sportsman Van a while ago. According to Huffman, the women all gave the exact same statement. I wonder if they were genuine statements from the mothers, or they were all coached, or, through knowledge of intelligence training and police procedure, all knew to give the exact same statement?[1]
