I get asked frequently who was the most influential person who worked with the Finders Operation. I think it was Barbara Marx Hubbard. Barbara Marx Hubbard, the eldest child of four, was born on December 22, 1929, to Irene Saltzman and Louis Marx Sr. (it is unknown if he is related directly/distantly to Karl Marx). Hubbard was raised Jewish; however, her father, Louis, was an agnostic. Hubbard was an heir to the Marx Toys fortune. Louis was an American toymaker and businessman whose company, Louis Marx and Company, was, during the 1950s, one of the largest toy companies in the world. Louis Marx and Company had twelve toy factories worldwide, and its toys were mainly sold in Sears, Roebuck & Company catalogs. Louis entered the toy business with his brother David during World War I. Louis was known as “the Henry Ford of the toy industry.” Louis retired in 1972, selling Marx Toys to Quaker Oats for thirty-seven million dollars. Louis Marx was wealthy and had many influential friends, including Dwight D. Eisenhower and J. Edgar Hoover. Finally, Hubbard’s brother Louis Marx Jr. was a powerful financier of the Bush family.[1] [2] [3] [4]
